Weddings of 2013 and The Spectacular Vintage Wedding Fair Giveaway

our ‘Ombre’ themed photo shoot at Bantry House with Charlotte & Jane

Last year was a great year for wedding cakes at Diva.  we had a lot of new designs brought to us from newly engaged couples, and it was fun to work with these new styles for our custom orders. a real eye catcher was the baby blue ‘Wedgwood’ style cake we did for a west cork wedding, it was also coupled with a dark chocolate , mango & peanut brittle ‘Grooms Cake’! we also had a good number of Diva ‘Classic’ style wedding cakes ordered like our ‘Tuxedo Cake’ and  ‘Ribbon Cake’ created with handmade chocolate ribbons!  some other cake themes for last year were ‘nude’ (open sided) cakes and decadent dessert tables for guests to pick and choose.

we also worked on a fantastic wedding photo shoot at Bantry House in West Cork with the Irish designers Charlotte & Jane. Their dresses were beautiful and glamourous and we wanted to create cake designs and a table to match the ‘Grand’ mood. we paired the color samples from their dresses in the cakes themselves, with pale pastels and bold blooms from Vintage Cut Flowers, down in Roscarberry. (a great idea for our future wedding customers: bring in colour samples of your bouquet and dresses for us to work with.) we decided to explore the ombre styles trending on Pinterest a lot last year. (see some of our latest pins on the right sidebar of this page!)

we also began the year with a great boost, we were finalists at the Awards. Thank You to all those who voted for us! we also participated in our first wedding fair. a big thanks to Kate & Rebecca the creators of the Spectacular Vintage Wedding Fair. the first of three great fairs was in the Imperial Hotel, Cork city. To be followed up in March in Dublin City Centre and a second fair back in Cork (on the hottest day of the summer) at the Ambassador Hotel. Busy busy!
