Happy 2016! Getting ready to reopen again after our annual mental health break (i.e.winter closing). We’re trying out new cake recipes at home for the coming years baking regime, the cake in the oven is a Tamarind & Date Caramel Cake! We have Blood Orange Curd cooling for another trial cake, that’s yet to be mixed.
It’s actually been 2 years and then some since our last blog post! How does that happen? Have you missed us? As many of you know last year- 2015 -started off with a bang and lots of billowing flames and black smoke! We had a gas explosion in the kitchen of our cafe premise (due to a faulty gas bottle) in our 5th day opening! Luckily no one was seriously hurt and we got up and running again after 6 and a half months of renovations!
Here’s a few pics of what our new and improved cafe looks like, Our favourite designer Fiona Bonniwell at Boniwell Grafikarts did our hibiscus mural, the centre images change seasonally! We changed from the Dia de Los Muertos theme in October to a cute Christmas Surfer Chick themed one in December.
We are looking forward to adding new specials to the menu on weekends and mixing it up with all kinds of fun new cake flavors. We are excited to see you all at the re opening next week! Saturday March 12th!
